Outboard Engines…Takes up to 200hp. Tows skis with 40hp. 10hp gives 12mph. 18hp gives 15mph. 40hp gives 22mph. 50hp gives 25mph. 60hp gives 30mph. 90hp gives 37mph. Twin 40hp outboards will give 33mph.
Inboard engines…Takes up to 350hp. Tows skis with 80hp. 36hp direct gives 11mph. 36hp with 2 to 1 reduction gives 14mph. 60hp direct gives 16mph. 60hp with 2 to 1 reduction gives 22mph. 100hp direct gives 25mph. 100hp with 1.5 to 1 reduction gives 30mph. 160hp direct gives 40mph.
Inboard/outdrive units give slightly better performance.
